For Congolese citizens who have lost their Congolese passports or have expired Congolese passports, they must obtain a travel document or pass from the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Congo.
However, it is important to be aware of the following 3 pieces of information on the travel document or laissez-passer :
- It is only valid for a period of 30 days (1 month);
- It is valid only for the Republic of Congo (No visa from another country can be affixed);
- This travel document is only valid for one entry, which means that the Laissez Passer holder is obliged to apply for a new passport once he/she has arrived in the Republic of Congo, as it is forbidden to leave the Congolese territory with this same document.
Documents required to apply for a travel document or a laissez-passer :
- Two color passport photos (4 X 4 format);
- A legible copy of your old Congolese passport or a copy of your Congolese birth certificate for proof of citizenship;
- A legible color photocopy of your Consular Card;
- A signed typed or handwritten letter addressed to the Chargé d'Affaires a.i n which the requesting party requests the issuance of a travel document. The letter must include the applicant's full name, address, email and a telephone number. Please note that this letter may be written in either English or French;
- A copy of your flight reservation or itinerary to the Republic of Congo;
The application fee for the pass is $120.
You must provide a pre-paid stamped envelope from DHL, FEDEX, UPS, PUROLATOR or CANADA POST with a tracking number so that we can return the documents.
